"Transfer of Power by Oct 3 inevitable": V S Acharya

Hubli, Aug 23 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Medical Education V S Acharya today said that transfer of power by October three by Janata Dal (Secular) to Bharatiaya Janata Party as agreed was inevitable.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that "Handing over power to someone would be a painful affair and that's why such statements" Mr Acharya declined to reply when his attention was drawn to a statement by the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in Gulbarga District yesterday to the effect that 'JD(S) has lost its secular image to some extent after joining hands with BJP'. "You better ask him", he added.

To another question on transfer of doctors from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) here, the Minister said that nobody had been transferred from KIMS and all the doctors who have been sent on deputation would be back by September 30.

Earlier, in Dharwad, the Minister laid foundation stone for Genes Information Center to be set up at a cost of Rs Three crore and called upon the scientists to join hands with the center for development of new genes.
