Trade cell of BJP demands to reject notification on VAT

Jamshedpur, Aug 23 (UNI) The trade cell of the BJP has demanded to scrap the notification, issued by the previous NDA government on Value Added Tax (VAT), as the present UPA government in Jharkhand failed to implement it properly.

State party president of trade cell Prem Kumar Mittal told newsmen here that the business community of Jharkhand was disgruntled with the state government and termed the government as ''anti-traders''.

The traders were facing problems for non-implementation of VAT in a right way, he added.

Mr Mittal said the ''Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samiti'' in Jharkhand was not working in the interests of the traders and demanded that the Samiti should be banned like the neigbouring state Bihar.

He said the investors were not interested in the state as it was lacking congenial atmosphere for investment.

Until the law and order situation was improved, no fresh investment was possible, Mr Mittal said.
