Three more die due to monsoon related diseases, toll 149

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) Three more persons have died due to monsoon related diseases including a four and a half year old boy, taking the toll of monsoon deaths to 149, since the monsoon started this year.

Civic health officials said that two of the females who died were aged 70 and 14 years and were undergoing treatment for malaria and fever respectively at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation run King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital in Central Mumbai.

In the 24 BMC run hospitals in the city, 1348 people have been admitted for various monsoon related ailments and 448 have been discharged since yesterday.
