SP MLA's daughter-inlaw shot at

Lakhimpur, Kheri, Aug 23 (UNI) The dughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party MLA Dr Kaushal Kishore Verma's brother was shot at and injured by an unidentified assailant here today.

Additional director general of police (Law and Order) told UNI here that Manju Verma (24) was out for her morning walk near her house, when two motorcycle-borne miscreants shot at her and fled.

''An unidentified youth shot her from close range...the bullet grazed her waist and she has been admitted to a hospital.'' She was rushed to hospital and given medical treatment. However, she is stated to be out-of-danger.

A case had been registered and investigations were on.
