Sena corporator booked for tearing ballot paper
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 23 (UNI) The City Chowk police here today registered an offence against Shiv Sena corporator Anil Jaiswal for tearing up a ballot paper given to him to cast his vote in the Maharashtra Legislative Council election from the Aurangabad-Jalna Local Body Constituency.
Except this incident, no untoward incident was reported from the two districts, election officials said.
All the voters, except Jaiswal, participated in the voting. There were a total of 465 voters who sealed the fate of the sitting MLC Abdul Sattar (Congress), Kishanchand Tanwani (Shiv Sena) and Subhash Jhambad, the NCP man who contested as an independent candidate supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The result of the election would be announced on August 25.
