Rectified spirit seized in TN

Kancheepuram, Aug 23: Police seized 1,400 litre of rectified spirit from a car at Tirukazhikundram last night.

Police here said the car driver sped after they signalled it to stop during a vehicle check.

After a hot chase, the police found the consignment packed in 40 cans. The car driver, Jagadeesan, was arrested. However, the owner, Marimuthu, fled. A search was on for him.
