Railways to recruit 53,500 Group D staff: Velu

New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) Railways is recruiting 53,500 Group D staff in nine zones, the government informed the Lok Sabha today.

The Central Railway has notified 6,413 posts, Eastern Railway 5,124, Northern Railway 8,366, Western Railway 8,250, East Central Railway 7,643, East Coast Railway 5,200, North Western Railway 4,787, South East Central Railway 3,016 and South Western Railway 4,701 post said Minister of State for Railways R Velu in a written reply.

South East Central Railway and Western Railway had completed the recruitment procedure and panels had been issued containing 2,466 and 8,109 names of candidates respectively where recruitment examination conducted by Northern Railway was cancelled.
