PIO TV launched for 50 million people of Indian origin
New Delhi, Aug 23 (UNI) To connect people of Indian origin and integrate them to their roots in India, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today launched the first digital integrated media platform 'www.piotv.com' here.
This platform would act as a bridge to the about 50 million Indians living abroad and apprise them not just about the latest in India but also their roots, said Munish Gupta, Chairman and CEO 'PIO TV'.
"It is a multi-faceted platform which covers India from the perspective of PIOs," he said.
The idea is to provide connectivity through content in various forms and ensure that it was available through browsing, watching and connection on any device -- anywhere and anytime, he said.
''Live PIO TV will be a 24x7 live stream that would bring significant news from India, the PIO world and around the globe that's relevant to the community.'' Besides being a broadcast affiliate of CNN, in future we might also provide content to the international channel, he informed the media.
Content on demand, Bollywood movies, Indian music, text and photo content -- all having relevance to the PIO community, would also be part of the 'www.piotv.com', Mr Gupta added.
