Photo attached voters list to be ready by September

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 23 (UNI) The Preparation of photo-attached voters list in Tamil Nadu would be completed by September this year, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta today said.

Addressing a press conference here, after reviewing the preparatory works for the issuance of photo-attached voters list with the Collectors of Tiruchirapalli, Pudukottai, Karur and Perambalur, he said 94 per cent of the voters in the state had been enlisted under the photograph-attached voters.

He said the work got delayed in Chennai City, Coimbatore and Tiruvallur districts but the official machinery was fully geared up to complete the job by the end of September.

To a question, he said efforts were also on to issue voters Identity cards to every voters in the state.
