Korean diplomat sees huge scope for trade ties

Hyderabad, Aug 23 (UNI) Korean Consul General Dong Yern Kim today saw a huge opportunity for bilateral trade between Andhra Pradesh and Korea.

The envoy, who met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy along with the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) President A Subba Rao, said a business delegation from Korea would visit the State shortly to explore possibilities in the areas of semi conductors, auto components and information technology.

A delegation from the State would also visit Korea to explore opportunities in the auto components sector, a FAPCCI release here said.

The Consul General, who also visited the FAPCCI, noted that the State had a lot of expertise in the key areas of information and communication technology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Mr Rao said trade between India and Korea stood at seven billion US Dollars and was likely to grow.
