JD(U) will stand united like a rock: Kushwaha

Patna, Aug 23 (UNI) JD(U) MLA Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha today claimed that his party was united like a rock and suspension of prinicipal general secretary Upendra Kushwaha would not rpt not affect his party.

The MLA told newspersons here that instead of raising his grievances on party platform, the prinicipal general secretary used to air it through the media, which could not be tolerated under any circumstances and justified the decision of the party to suspend him for six years.

''He should have been suspended from the party much earlier,'' the MLA remarked.

The JD(U) MLA dubbed as meaningless the disheartening of some of the party leaders, following suspension of Mr Kushwaha.

''After his suspension from the party, Mr Upendra Kushwaha is now raising the issue of proper respect to party workers but he never cared to raise the issue either with JD(U) president Sharad Yadav or with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,'' he said alleging that Mr Kushwaha was only concerned with his position in the party and wanted to get 'a cozy post in the government'.

''The workers had never been ignored by the party high command,'' he added.

'' Mr Upendra Kushwaha was made leader of the JD(U) legislative party in Bihar Assembly tantamounting to be leader of the Opposition in the Lower House by Nitish Kumar even after all the thirty 36-party MLAs had voiced opposition to the move three years back,'' he said adding it was testimony of the fact that Mr Kushwaha was given due respect in the party.
