India to get $ 40 billion foreign investment in hardware
Chennai, Aug 23 (UNI) Union IT and Communications Minister A Raja today said India would get a whopping 40 billion dollar foreign investment in hardware manufacturing and other components sector.
Talking to reporters after attending the first meeting of the State level Information Technology Task Force meeting, chaired by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, he said these investments would be realised in the next three years.
''Of this, eight to ten per cent will come to Tamil Nadu,'' he added.
Mr Raja also handed over a cheque for Rs 2.75 crore on behalf of the Centre to the Chief Minister, towards five per cent equity to the Coimbatore Tidel Park to be set up by the Tamil Nadu Government.
