Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 23 (UNI) DPI General Secretary Thol Thirumavalavan today said his party shared the views of the Left on India's nuclear agreement with the US.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr Thirumavalavan said Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh should understand India will be subjected to the US law once the 123 agreement was operationalised.

Hence, he should take note of the concerns and act on the matter accordingly, the DPI leader said.

He also alleged the police were foisting cases on DPI cadre for which he had already lodged a complaint with the DGP. He would soon meet the Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to apprise him about this.

Mr Thirumavalavan also described the reported move to cut allowances of Lok Sabha members, who stage walkout as 'usurping the freedom of speech' and said the move must be dropped.

On continuing clashes between DPI and PMK cadre in Cuddalore District, Mr Thirumavalavan said the leadership of both the parties was united and there was no problem. Even PMK Founder-Leader S Ramadoss had agreed with him on the need for peace to prevail in the society.

He would soon hold talks with the second rung leaders of his party to sort out the issue.

Mr Thirumavalavan added the party would start an agitation programme for entry of Dalits into the Draupadi Amman Temple in Salem District of the state.
