Jodhpur, Aug 23 (UNI) A local court today directed the police to ensure that no electronic media equipment be allowed on the court premises when the judgement in the chinkara poaching case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan is delivered tomorrow.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate had written a letter to the Superintendent of Police that the presence of numerous OB vans and cameras on the court premises hampered legal work and created disorder. The newspersons along with general public disrupted the normal proceedings of the court.

SP Hawa Singh Ghumriya said the court's direction would be followed.

Notably, the CJM had sentenced Salman to five-year imprisonment on April 10, 2006 for killing a chinkara in the Ghoda Farm House under Mathania police station.

He had appealed against the verdict in the District and Sessions Court and asked for a reprieve. The court had heard the case on August 7 and reserved the verdict for August 24. The actor was asked to be present in the court during the judgement.

Salman was also sentenced to one-year imprisonment on February 17,2006 for killing two black bucks in Bhavad village.

He has filed an appeal against the verdict at the District and Sessions Court, the hearing of which will come up on September 10.
