Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) A local court today directed the police to execute a bailable warrant against Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray at his residence ''Matoshree''.

The court directed the police to approach Mr Thackeray at his residence and execute the bailable warrant by filling up personnel bond of Rs 5000 there itself.

Additional sessions judge S J Shah gave the directions after Adv Rajesh Dube, representing NCP activist Munna Tripati who has moved court against Mr Thackeray, told the court that the police could have the bond paper filled at Mr Thackeray's residence itself.

A Railway mobile court had issued bailable warrant against Mr Thackeray after he failed to appear before the court for a hearing on Mr Tripathi's petition.

Mr Tripathi has accused Sena mouthpiece ''Saamna'' of publishing provocative articles on July 19 last year.

On the last occasion, the judge had slapped a fine of Rs 500 on Mr Thackeray for his failure to appear before the court.
