Withdraw remarks against PM: CPI to Jaya
Chennai, Aug 23: Peeved over AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa's criticism of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the Indo-US nuke deal, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader D Sudarsanam today warned off an agitation if she did not withdraw her remarks against the Prime Minister. In a statement here, Mr Sudarsanam, who is also the Party Treasurer, said the Congress party would stage demonstration in front of the AIADMK office if she did not take back her remarks.
''Without an iota of barest minimum political civility, she has asked the Prime Minister to immigrate to America on the Nuclear deal issue'', he said.
He said Ms Jayalalithaa should not forget that she had lost power after making disparaging comments about Congress President Sonia Gandhi. ''Now she has made similar remarks against Dr Manmohan Singh and it is highly condemnable,'' he added.
