CBI arrests surveyor of United Insurance Corporation

Ara, Aug 23 (UNI) CBI today arrested a surveyor of United Insurance Corporation of India while accepting Rs 2,000 as bribe from owner of a vehicle at Mahabir Tola under Nawada police station area in Bhojpur district.

Police said a trap had been laid after receiving a tip-off from a Mr Raj Kumar that Surveyor Shiv Shankar Pandey was demanding Rs 2,000 from him for inspecting his vehicle.

''The CBI caught Mr Pandey red-handed at Nawada branch of United Insurance Corporation of India, while accepting cash from Mr Kumar,'' police added.

The arrested surveyor would be produced before the CBI court in Patna.
