Assessment of spectrum availability to be completed soon
Chennai, Aug 23 (UNI) Union IT and Communications Minister A Raja today said the assessment of spectrum availability and 'vacation' of spectrum being done by the Telecom and the Defence Ministries were likely to be completed in the next 15 days.
In a brief chat with newspersons after inaugurating IBM's Global delivery systems here, he said the government would give a 'fair hearing' to everyone concerned on the issue of number portability.
It may be recalled that Mr Raja had stated that the government would consult the telecom operators to explore the possibility of introducing a facility wherein customers could retain their mobile numbers even after changing the service provider.
