82% favour Homeopathy to conventional treatment: Survey
Hyderabad, Aug 23 (UNI) About 82 per cent of the people using Homeopathy for treatment will never switch to conventional treatment, according to a recent survey conducted by A C Nielsen.
The survey conducted between November, 2006 and April, 2007, to gauge the potential of the homeopathy industry through market study and patient behaviour analysis, found out that 62 per cent of the current Homeopathy users had never tried Allopathy.
The survey revealed that the people opt for Homeopathy because it was safe (53 per cent) or was recommended by friends and relatives (50 per cent).
It said the people opt for conventional treatment as it enjoys top-of-mind recall (59 per cent) and had immediate results (56 per cent).
The survey was conducted across seven cities among a mix of people with certain specific characteristics.
Responding to the survey, Dr Batra's Positive Health Clinics Pvt Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Batra, in a release said, ''Considering the results of the AC Nielsen survey, we will expand our reach to other cities and countries. We will organise awareness programmes and campaigns.'' According to WHO, Homeopathy, which is the second largest system of medicine in the world, was experiencing an annual growth of 20 to 25 per cent.
