2 more held in connection with Shiv Sena ZP member's murder
Nagpur, Aug 23 (UNI) Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of a Shiv Sena member of the Nagpur Zilla Parishad (ZP), taking the total number of suspects put behind bars in connection with the case to five.
According to police, the two persons, identified as Narayan Deshmukh and Balu Dangre, were arrested today.
The police earlier arrested five persons on suspicion. Their names were given as Dattu Deshmukh, Shankar Deshmukh, Ravi Chavan, Ravindra Chandelwada and Devendra Konge.
Gopal Lohabare (38), a ZP member belonging to the Shiv Sena, was beheaded by assailants while he was on his way home to village Tarsa, about 47 kilometres from here, late on Sunday night. It is suspected that the murder was the fallout of an altercation that Mr Lohabare had a little while before being killed, but it is also being investigated if there was any political motive behind the murder, the police said.
