Srinagar, Aug 22 (UNI) Noisy scenes were witnessed in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today after Panthers Party legislators and National Conference (NC) members disrupted the proceedings, forcing Speaker Tara Chand to adjourn the House twice.

As soon as the Assembly assembled at 1000 hrs, three NC members -- Mir Saifullah, Kafeel-ur-Rehman and Qaiser Jamshed Lone -- wearing black gown-like apparel trooped into the well of the House, alleging discrimination against the border district of Kupwara.

The Speaker repeatedly asked the members to resume their seats, but the legislators instead sat in the well of the House.

The NC members were soon joined by another party legislator, Mubarak Gul, who alleged discrimination against the downtown city.

Soon after, Panthers Party legislators trooped into the well of the House, demanding revocation of the suspension of party member Harshdev Singh.

Mr Singh was physically evicted from the Assembly yesterday after being suspended for the rest of the ongoing session for threatening to ''murder'' Rural Development Minister Jugal Kishore (Congress).

The Minister had alleged that Mr Singh manhandled and abused him outside the Assembly Hall.

Health and Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma (Congress) later moved a motion, seeking suspension of the Panthers Party member for the remaining period of the ongoing session. The Speaker admitted the motion, which was passed by a voice vote.

As Mr Singh refused to leave, the Speaker ordered for his removal from the House. The Marshals then physically dragged the Panthers Party legislator out of the House.
