Woman dies due to doctor's 'mistake' in OT

Santiniketan, Aug 22 (UNI) A woman died today following a caesarian operation, allegedly due to a doctor's 'mistake' at Suri near here.

Sritikona Roy, a teacher with the R T Girls' High School, was admitted under Dr Monojit Das on August 17 at a local nursing home here. The doctor, while performing the operation, had mistakenly cut the woman's urinal tract. She was immediately shifted to Suri General Hospital and despite all efforts, she died this morning after five long days' of struggle.

An FIR has been registered with the police against Dr Das and the owner of the nursing home G S Dey.

In protest against the death, the teachers and students of the school staged an agitation urging the police to arrest the duo.
