University teacher sacked for making obscene CD of colleague
Hardwar, Aug 22 (UNI) The vice-chancellor of Gurukul Kangri University Hardwar has terminated the services of a teacher and suspended two others for their alleged involvement in preparing a CD which indecently portrayed a lady teacher of a constituent college of the university.
On getting information that an obscene CD reportedly of a lady teacher of Gurukul Mahila Mahavidyalaya Hardwar, a constituent college of the university, was doing the rounds in the city, Vice-chancellor Swatantra Kumar terminated services of Rajeev Kumar of economics department and suspended Manoj Kumar of mathematics department and Arun Kumar of psychology department of the university.
The vice-chancellor told UNI today that an inquiry committee, headed by Damyanti Kapoor, the principal of Gurukul Kanya Mahavidyalaya Dehradun, had been set up to conduct investigations in the case.
On the complaint of university registrar R D Sharma, Jwalapur police kotwali registered a case against the three accused under section 67 of the Information Technology Act and section 6 of Indecent Portrayal of Women Act.
Police sources said Manoj Kumar had been taken into police custody late last evening, while the two other accused were still absconding.
