Tension in AP village as CPI launches phase 2 of land stir

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 22 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Chinaganjam village of Prakasham district today as the CPI launched the second phase of its 'Bhooporatam' (land struggle), with the party workers trying to occupy lands of the Snow White company.

Party State Secretary K Narayana surprised the police officials, who were armed with an arrest warrant against him, by reaching the village through the sea route to launch the programme. However, women workers of the party surrounded him and were resisting his arrest when reports last came in.
