Sterlite Optical upgrades manufacturing capacity to 1,15,000 MT
New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Optical fibres manufacturer Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd today said its cumulative manufacturing capacity has reached 1,15,000 MT, with the commencement of operation at its Haridwar facility in Uttarakhand.
The company is the largest manufacturer in India and is amongst the top five global manufacturers of power conductors, a statement said.
This facility includes the latest generation drawing and stranding machines capable of manufacturing standard and specialised power conductor products.
At the start of Q2 2007-08, the company had an order book of Rs 980 crore from India and other global markets for its power transmission conductor products. Based on customer delivery requirements, over 75 per cent of these contracts will be executed within FY 2007-08.
