Patiala inflicts humiliating defeat on Minor Districts

Patiala, Aug 22 (UNI) Patiala inflicted a humiliating defeat on underdogs Minor Districts in Punjab Inter-District Under-22 Cricket Tournament on the final day at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium here today.

Minor Districts were all out for 93 in 43.3 overs when they started their first innings this morning. Pradeep Kumar was the only batsman who played the strong Patiala bowling attack with some confidence, scoring 35 runs.

For Patiala, Sarabjit Ladda captured 4 wickets, conceding 15 runs.

A. Jund and Amitoj Singh captured two wickets each, giving away 12 and 21 runs respectively.

Following on, Minor Districts scored 56 for 9, (their last batsman did not take the field due to injury) leaving Patiala the winners by a huge margin.

Patiala had scored 452 for 7 in the allotted 95 overs yesterday.

For Patiala, S. Ladda took 4 for 21, while Rajinder Singh got 3 for 12.

Patiala earned three points and will play the semi-final match against Jalandhar here on August 24, 25 and 26.
