Mobile exhibition to highlight events of 1857 in Haryana
Chandigarh, Aug 22 (UNI) A mobile exhibition, to mark the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence and highlight the related events, would begin tomorrow at some prominent places in Haryana, said the state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.
''The exhibition is aimed at apprising the people about the significant role played by our martyrs to make the country free and inspire them to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation and infuse among them a sense of patriotism,'' Mr Hooda said.
The exhibition has been organised by the Indian Council for Historical Research, Haryana Archives Department and Haryana Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department to mark the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence.
The exhibition amply reflected the significant role played by the brave people of Haryana in the First War of Independence, he added.
He said the exhibition would remain for public viewing at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak from August 23 to 26. It would be organised at Rewari from August 29 to September 1, at Hisar from September 4 to 7 and at Kurukshetra from September 9 to 14.
The exhibition depicted a number of documents having great historical significance, the minister added.
