Inquiry into bulk purchase of edible oil

Dhar, MP, Aug 22 (UNI) An inquiry has been ordered into bulk purchase of edible oil by tribal hostels in tribal-dominated Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Collector Umakant Umrao said complaints had been received that hostels and ashrams -- run by the Tribal Welfare Department -- were being forced to purchase edible oil in bulk at a higher price.

Complaints had been received that edible oil for whole year had been sent to tribal hostels and asked to pay Rs 1,200 per tin instead of Rs 934 per tin for the concerned brand. Sixteen hostels in Nalchha block had made the payment.

A three-member team headed by a senior accountant had been constituted for inquiring into the case.
