Indo-Pak 'Mushaira' in Jamia on Sept 1
New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Underlining the commonality of cultural ties between India and Pakistan, the Jamia Millia Islamia University is organising a 'Mushaira' on September 1 to commemorate the 60th year of independence of both the nations.
Pakistani poets Zehra Nigah, Kishwar Naheed, Harris Khalique and Asghar Nadeem Syed have confirmed their participation.
Indian luminaries Javed Akhtar, Shahryar, Gulzar Dehlvi, Nida Fazli, Waseem Barelvi, Makhmoor Saeedi, Rifat Sarosh, Popular Meeruthi, Zubair Rizvi among others will be part of the session.
''The 'Mushaira' is Jamia Millia Islamia's contribution to the Independence day celebrations... poets from both the countries have been invited,'' a Jamia Millia Islamia spokesperson said.
The Cultural Committee of the Jamia Millia Islamia, with support from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is organising the event.
