IHCL sets up Gen-next hotel in Tripura
Agartala, Aug 22: The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has set up its first Generation Next Smart Basics Hotel 'Ginger' here in NE state.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar inaugurated the hotel yesterday and indicated that it would get the affiliation as three-star category.
He, however, requested IHCL to consider the proposal of setting up two more hotels in Udaipur and Dharmanagar to facilitate the outsiders and promote tourism in the state.
''We have initiated the proposal to incorporate Bangladesh and Myanmar in the package tourism and I feel hotel is an important tool to encourage the business,'' Mr Sarkar said.
He has invited outside investment for infrastructure development in the state and promised to extend all out support from the government.
