Helpline for CRPF personnel to address grievances

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) In a major push to address grievances of its serving and retired personnel, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today launched a national 'Toll-Free Helpline' that would also update families on information regarding those deployed in far-flung areas.

The 'Helpline' while informing the force personnel and their families with timely information on welfare schemes of the CRPF, would also educate them on HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), according to the CRPF.

''The new service would help reduce stress levels in the force,'' said CRPF Director General S I S Ahmed while launching the facility and added that the helpline, initially being started in Hindi and English, would handle 30 callers at a time.

With help from UNAIDS, the helpline was jointly be created by the CRPF's Wives Welfare Association (CWWA) and Force AIDS Control Cell (FACC).
