CRPF picket attacked, two Pak infiltrators among 3 arrested in JK
Srinagar, Aug 22 (UNI) Militants attacked a CRPF picket with automatic weapons while security forces arrested three militants, including two Pakistani infiltrators in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official sources said.
They said militants resorted to indiscriminate firing towards a CRPF picket at Zampakul, Chattabal, in the down town city last evening. Troops also retaliated and the exchange continued for some time. But the militants managed to escape, he said adding that there was no report of any loss of life.
He said security forces and police in a joint operation arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Albadr, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather at Handwara alongwith two hand grenades.
A report from Jammu said two Pakistani nationals were arrested while attempting to sneak into the Indian side at R S Pura.
The duo, identified as Shazad, 18, of Malikpur (Pakistan) and Ali Akbar, 19, of Faislabad (Pakistan) were apprehended by the BSF personnel at Korotanna village on International Border yesterday.
Nothing incriminating was recovered from the posession of the infiltrators, who were later handed over to the police.
