CII to organise 'iTalent'

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), southern region is organising the fourth version of 'iTalent', an event aimed at identifying and showcasing the computing talent of Information Technology students in developing IT-related projects for industrial applications.

A release here today said the final contest of 'iTalent' would be held during February 2008 at Chennai. This year around 225 Regional Institutions were expected to participate in the event.

'iTalent' would provide the students an exposure to best-in-class competitive landscape and an opportunity for the Industry to have a look at the best of students from these colleges.

The finalists would present their projects at an event witnessed by major IT players in the region.

Three most meritorious teams would be given cash awards worth Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000, a citation for each team member and a trophy.

All other finalists would receive a cash award of Rs 1,000 per participant and a citation.

The event attracted 484 final year students from 66 regional colleges, who submitted 173 concept papers on IT-related innovative projects last year, the release added.
