Celebration in Soren's Parliamentary area over his acquittal

Dumka, Aug 22 (UNI) Enthused by the Delhi High Court's decision of acquitting jailed Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren in the Shashinath Jha Murder case, his supporters gathered to see their leader before the Central Jail gate here today.

Soren, facing life term for killing his personal assistant, was shifted to Dumka Central jail on Janauary 5 after a production warrant was issued by a local Jamtara court.

Hearing an application, the Delhi High Court today acquitted the JMM supremo.

Central vice-president and former MP of the party Simon Marandi told UNI that the court verdict was a result of their faith in the judiciary.

''The court verdict also makes it clear that Mr Soren, who fought for needy and weaker sections, was innocent, '' Mr Marandi said.

The state politics would lead to a new direction after Mr Soren's acquittal, he added.
