Call money rates close slightly higher at 6.20-6.26

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Call money rates closed slightly higher at 6.20-6.26 per cent as compared to the previous close of 6.00-6.10 per cent in an otherwise quiet trading at the interbank call money market today.

The short-term interbank rates opened at 6.20-6.30 per cent and ruled at almost same level till afternoon trade. However, activities picked up in the late afternoon and the rates inched up on some demand for funds, dealers said.

Since there was enough liquidity in the market, the call rates held nearly steady.
