Atmaram Bhende, Asha Khadilkar to get state cultural award

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) Veteran actor Atmaram bhende and Asha Khadilkar has been chosen for the cultural awards for the year 2007.

An official release issued here today said the government has announced the names of 12 recipients, who would get a cash award of Rs 51,000 apart and a citation.

The award distribution ceremony will be held on September 12 at Nagpur.

The names of the 12 recipients are Atmaram Bhende ((drama), Pandit Shrikrishna Haldankar (classical music), Asha Khadilkar (semi classical music), Faiyyaz Hussain (instrumental violen), Rekha Kamat (Marathi films), Datdtasbua Ghag (Kirtan), Haribhau Kudle (Tamasha), Yashvant Pawar (shahiri), Jayashri T (dance), Niranjan Bhakre (folk art-Bharud), Bastiram Naik (tribal folk dance) and veteran singer and critic Ashok Ranade.

UNI
