Assam Police havildar shot dead by colleague

Kokrajhar, Aug 22 (UNI) An Assam Police constable shot dead his colleague with his service rifle at Srirampur gate on the Assam-Bengal border early today.

Police sources informed that constable Giridhar Nath of the Seventh Assam Police Battalion killed havildar Gopinath Roy from point blank range with his service SLR rifle.

Nath has immediately been arrested.

The motive could not be ascertained so far behind the murder.
