Alert CRPF foil attempt to smuggle in charas inside jail

Srinagar, Aug 22 (UNI) Members of mahila battalion of CRPF today foiled an attempt to take charas inside the central jail for an inmate, a CRPF spokesman said.

He said constables Ram Rati and Sunita of 135 Mahila battalion during routine frisking of visitors at main gate, central jail, got suspicious when children of an inmate Nazeer Sheikh approached the gate.

The constables immediately searched the lunch box, they found four gm charas under the cooked rice.

Sheikh is lodged in the central jail since March this year under section 18 NDPS act.

Earlier, this month, CRPF arrested a person when he was trying to take a SIM card inside the jail for a militant.
