3 youths drown in lake near Nagpur

Nagpur, Aug 22 (UNI) Three youths, who had gone to immerse the ashes of a relative, drowned in a lake in Nagpur district today.

According to police, the three youths, identified as Mangesh Krishnarao Lokhande (22), Sachin Haribhau Lokhande (22) and Ravi Krishnarao Balulkar (23), all residents of Nagpur, drowned in the Ambala lake in Ramtek, about 60 kms from here, this morning.

Mangesh entered the water for a bath after immersing the ashes, but could not gauge the depth and began to struggle, police said. When they saw him struggling, Sachin and Ravi also jumped in, but all of them drowned, police said.

The police later fished out the bodies with the help of divers and later handed them over to relatives.
