100 injured in bailey bridge collapse at Raigunj

Raigunj, West Bengal, Aug 22 (UNI) At least 100 people were injured, 35 of them critically, when a bailey bridge that they were crossing on National Highway 34 collapsed at Domohana here in South Dinajpur district today.

Official sources said the bridge, which was more than 35 year's old, had been in a precarious condition for long with broken railings.

The injured had been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of 35 was stated to be serious, the sources added.

Details were awaited.
