Union RD minister stresses on monitoring of projects

Itanagar, Aug 21 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has said all programmes of the ministry should be closely monitored for effective implementation.

Official sources here today said Mr Singh has also appreciated Arunachal Pradesh MP Kiren Rijiju for his successfully monitoring and implementing the programmes in the state.

''This has been successful through the district vigilance and monitoring committees, regular meetings and guidance conducted for the district authorities,''Mr Singh said.

He also said during the past three years, the allocation of resources under various programmes of the RD ministry had gone up significantly.

Institutional arrangements had also been made for generating awareness, enhancing people's participation and to maintain transparency, he said adding that steps should be taken to ensure that funds meant for the beneficiaries reached the people.
