Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today urged the members of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to allow the business of the House in the interests of the people of the state.

Talking to reporters outside the Assembly hall, Mr Tarigami termed as ''unfortunate'' the frequent disruptions and adjournments in the House.

''Being the representatives of the people of the state, it is the duty of the members to ensure that the business of the House do not suffer,'' he added.

Mr Tarigami said he was the first to bring the adjournment motion in the Assembly on the Khundru incident. The main opposition National Conference had also moved a similar motion, he added.

The CPI(M) leader said it was ''said'' that the House had to be adjourned twice on the issue. ''The people of Khundru and other affected villages are waiting for some relief. The opposition members would have talked and the government given its reply.

Unfortunately, that did not happen.'' he lamented.
