SE railway services disrupted due to breach on tracks
Kolkata, Aug 21 (UNI) A breach on the tracks in Rourkela-Jharsuguda section of Chakradharpur division, South Eastern (SE) Railway, and incessant rains in Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa have led to disruption of train services today.
A goods train had also been derailed on the same section, SE Railway PRO said.
About 400-500 m of rail lines on the Rourkela-Jharsuguda section of Chakradharpur division have been breached.
The PRO here said that attempt is on to resume services with the restoration work progressing well. A few trains are scheduled to take Rourkela-Jharsuguda route.
''Howrah-Mumbai Geetanjali Express(2860) scheduled to leave Howrah today would be diverted via Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda. Yesvantpur-Tata Express(2890) leaving Yesvantpur today would be diverted via Angul-Bhadrak-Kharagpur-Tatanagar.
Durg-Tatanagar-Danapur South Bihar Express(3287) also leaving Durg today be short-terminated on South East Central Railway system.
Mumbai-Howrah Mail(2809) leaving Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus today has been cancelled,'' he said.
