Science City, Nano Park soon in B'lore: Minister
Bangalore, Aug 21: Karnataka Minister Science and Technology Ramachandragowda today said that the works on much awaited 'Science City' will begin within next fifteen days.
He said that it was proposed to establish a Nano Park, in the outskirts of the city to promote research and development in the latest technology. It was proposed to acquire 15 acres of land for Nano Park.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that already 100 acres of land had been acquired for Science City to be built at a cost of Rs 75 Crores at Bennaraghatta, about 25 km from here.
Mr Ramachandragowda said that it was proposed to set up Regional Science Centres in Dharwad, Mangalore and Kodagu to promote awareness about basic science among the rural population.
The department would hold a one-day Science Conference on August 23 on subjects like Space, Nano Technology, Energy and Green Revolution.
