Sathasivam takes oath as SC judge

New Delhi, Aug 21: Justice P Sathasivam was today sworn in as Supreme Court judge.

The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan. The oath taking ceremony was attended by the judges and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

Before his elevation, Justice Sathasivam was a senior judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

With today's appointment, the total strength of judges in the apex court stands at 24 against the sanctioned strength of 26.
