Rs 5.50 cr being spent on upgradation of roads in Srinagar city

Srinagar, Aug 21 (UNI) Concerned over the condition of roads, the Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charak said Rs 5.50 crore was being spent for upgradation and renovation of roads in Srinagar city during this year.

Mr Charak while inspecting the upgradation work of Lala Ded- Abdullah Bridge road said that Rs 42 lakh was being spent on this road and the work would be completed within a week's time.

He said that most of the upgradation works of inner roads in Srinagar city was going on in double and triple shifts so as to complete those within time frame.

Mr Charak asked the engineers of Roads and Buildings (R&B) to maintain the quality of work and see that the durability of the roads with stood all weathers.

He also asked them to complete upgradation and blacktopping of the roads before the onset of the winter.
