Rameshwar Thakur sworn in as new Karnataka Governor

Bangalore, Aug 21 (UNI) Mr Rameshwar Thakur was sworn in as the 15th Governor of Karnataka by Chief Justice of the High Court Cyriac Joseph at a simple function held in the Raj Bhavan today.

Outgoing Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minsiter B S Yediyurappa, former Prime Minsiter H D Deve Gowda, Presiding officers of Karnataka Legislature Mr Krishna (Speaker) and Mr B K Chandrasekhar (Council), senior Congress members of the State besides family members of Mr Thakur, including his wife Nirmala Thakur witnessed the swearing in ceremony.

Earlier, Mr Kumaraswamy and his cabinet colleagues received Mr Thakur at the airport on his arrival this morning.
