Rameshwar Thakur sworn in as K'taka Gov

Bangalore, Aug 21: Mr Rameshwar Thakur was sworn in as the 15th Governor of Karnataka by State Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph at a simple function held in the Raj Bhavan this morning.

Outgoing Governor T N Chaturvedi, Chief Minsiter H D Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minsiter B S Yediyurappa, Former Prime Minsiter H D Deve Gowda, Presiding officers of Karnataka Legislature Mr Krishna (Speaker) and Mr B K Chandrasekhar (Council), senior Congress members of the State besides family members of Mr Thakur, including his wife Nirmala Thakur witnessed the ceremony.

Earlier Mr Kumaraswamy and his cabinet colleagues received Mr Thakur at the Airport on his arrival this morning.
