Raje govt trying to create wedge between Meena, Gujjar: Gunjal

Kota, Aug 21 (UNI) Expelled BJP legislator Prahlad Gunjal has alleged that the Rajasthan government was following the imperialistic policy of 'Divide and Rule' by creating differences between Gujjars and Meenas.

While talking to newsmen here today, Mr Gunjal said ''Meenas and Gujjars have lived together in harmony for years in Rajasthan but now politicians, with their own interests in mind, are trying to divide them.

He said the Vasundhara Raje government after coming to power has tried to stifle various agitations by provoking schism between the groups. This Gujjar-Meena confrontation is one of the many agitations like Gharsana farmer stir, Mev and Sikhs in Alwar etc,''he calimed.

Mr Gunjal said at least three lakh Gujjars would congregate in Jhalarapatan in Jhalawar district on Augst 26 which would be a ''warning'' to the state government ovr the commnity's demand for ST status.

Jhalarapatan is Ms Raje's constituency.
