National Safety Award to SAIL mine in J'khand

Ranchi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Steel Authority of India Limited's (SAIL) Kiriburu mines in Jharkhand have bagged the National Safety award for 2004-05.

The mine has also been awarded with the ISO 9001-2000 certificate for quality management system this year, a SAIL release stated here today.

The company had initiated steps to increase iron ore production of Kiriburu and Meghahatuburu mines to five MT per year from existing 4.25 and 4.30 MT per year respectively.

The company would soon appoint a world class consultant to develop Chiria mines. About Rs four crores had already been spent to prepare an environment impact assessment and Detail Project Report, the released added.
